Then depart from Hotel to see the
South Gate of Angkor Thom, the last
capital of Angkor Period (AD 802-1432) until the
15th century, was indeed a Great City as its name
implied. Bayon Temple,
one of the most popular sites in Angkor complex and
over 200 large faces caved on the 54 towers, which
at that time represents the 54 provinces in The
Khmer Empire; give this temple its majestic
character, Terrace of
elephant and
Terrace of Leper king. Then to
Phimeanakas,
One of the temples is
Buddhist and may date from the 14th century. The
temples are in rough shape but there are interesting
carved lintels scattered on the ground.
Prasat Sour Prat;
Twelve nearly identical
laetrile and sandstone towers that stands the
artistic and architectural style of the towers is
somewhat unique, defying easy classification and
dating. Construction may have begun under Jayavarman
VII, but the towers do not display the classic Bayon-style
characteristics.
Enjoy the lunch at
Local Restaurant.
PM
: Depart from the hotel
Then, fulfill your dream by visit to
Angkor Wat Temple,
one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Surround by a
moat and an exterior wall measuring 1300 meters x
1500 meters. It is a massive three-tiered pyramid
crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters
from ground level. The walls of the temple are
covered inside and out with bas-reliefs and
carvings. Nearly 2000 distinctively rendered Apsara
carvings adorn the walls throughout the temple and
represent some of the finest examples of Apsara
carvings in Angkorian era art.
Then we will enjoy sunset at
Bakheng Mountain to
witness spatula view of Angkor Wat’s 5 towels and
Beautiful sunsets over the forest…
Enjoy local style BBQ Dinner to bring sweet
experience back home...
Day 2: Explore Temple
5:00 AM :
Depart from hotel and experience sunrise at
Angkor Wat by
enjoying picnic breakfast.
Then continue to
Prasat
Kravan,
10 century -
East-facing brick
towers containing unique bas-reliefs of Vishnu and
Lakshmi rendered in brick constructed by noblemen -
the only example of brick bas-reliefs in the Angkor
area.
Banteay Kdei,
Sprawling, largely
un-restored, monastic complex was originally
constructed over the site of an earlier temple, and
functioned as a Buddhist monastery under Jayavarman
VII. As with other works of Jayavarman VII's era, it
is a tightly packed architectural muddle, using an
inferior grade of sandstone. The 13th century
vandalism of Buddha images that is seen on many
Jayavarman VII temples is quite apparent. Combine
with a visit to Srah
Srang,
Originally constructed
by the same architect that built Pre Rup. Remodel in
the 12th century as part of Jayavarman VII's massive
building campaign. A multi-tiered landing platform
on the west edge of the baray is adorned with naga
balustrades and guardian lions. The very sparse
remains of an island temple can be seen poking out
of the middle of the lake during the dry season when
the water is low.
Pre
Rup,
Architecturally and
artistically superior temple-mountain. It’s give an
excellent view of the surrounding countryside.
Beautiful carved doors and well-preserved carvings.
Historically important in that it was the second
temple built after the capital was returned to
Angkor from Koh
Ker after
a period of political upheaval.
East Mebone,
is a large
temple-mountain-like ruin, rising three levels and
crowned by five towers. Jayavarman IV, a usurper to
the throne, moved the capital from Angkor to Koh Ker
in 928AD. Sixteen years later Rajendravarman II
returned the capital to Angkor and shortly. It is
dedicated to Shiva in honor of the king’s parents.
Inscriptions record activity at the temple as early
as 947AD.
Come back to town for lunch
and take a rest at the hotel.
Then
visit the jungle-like temple of Ta
Prohm. The movement of the earth beneath
distorts the high lichen covered walls. Build in AD
1186 by King Jayavarman VII. 800 years of history
lie twisted and broken, with sinister root systems
of huge trees enveloping doors and windows in a
stranglehold. Trunks of trees twist amongst stone
pillars, and spread their gigantic roots over, under
and in between the stones, probing walls and
terraces apart, make this temple even more
extractive. This amazing temple is a photographers
dream!
Then continue to visit NEAK
PEAN; a small
island temple located
in the middle of the last baray (the Preah Khan
Baray or Jayatataka. The central temple sits at the
axis of a cross or lotus pattern of eight pools and
coiled & en-coiled nagas that encircled the temple.
The temple is faced by a statue of the horse, Balaha,
saving drowning sailors. Though originally dedicated
to Buddha, Neak
Pean contains
several Hindu images.
During the dry season, the water is low and most
photogenic in the wet season.
Near by,
Preah Khan
(Scared Sword) is
a huge, highly explorer able monastic complex. Full
of carving, passage made great photo opportunities.
It originally served as a Buddhist monastery and
school, engaging over 1000 monks. For a short period
it was also the residence of King Jayavarman VII
. Like most of Jayavarman VII's monuments, the
Buddha images were vandalized in the later Hindu
resurgence. Some Buddha carvings in the central
corridor have been crudely carved over with
Bodhisattvas, and in a couple of odd cases, a lotus
flower and a linga.
Enjoy end of your
evening with the Ancient Khmer Kingdom's cultural
dance show with buffet dinner
Day 3: Jungle Ruin Temple Tour
After Breakfast, enjoy
country side on the way to the
Kbal Spean resort;
A river of 1000 lingas’
and also carvings of Buddha and Buddhist images in
the rock that date from a later period than the
lingas. Required a moderately easy 30 minutes uphill
walk though the charming forest.
Have lunch at local
restaurant
Then we take a drive of
about 50 minutes to most beautiful temple 'Banteay
Srey' (citadel
of the women),’
but this is a modern appellation that probably
refers to the delicate beauty of the carvings and
displays some of the finest examples of classical
Khmer art. Built at a time when the Khmer Empire was
gaining significant power and territory, the temple
was constructed by a Brahmin counselor under a
powerful king, Rajendravarman and later under
Jayavarman V.
On the way back, visit to
Banteay Samre;
Large, comparatively
flat temple displaying distinctively Angkor Wat-style
architecture and artistry. It was constructed around
the same time as Angkor
Wat. Many of the carvings are in excellent
condition.
Dinner at Restaurant
Day
04: Siem Reap Town and Lake Tour

After Breakfast at the
Hotel,
Tonle
Sap; Great Lake
- The Floating village of
Chong Khneas south of Siem reap used to
be one of the main entry points to Siem Reap and
Angkor. It was an atmospheric but messy introduction
to Tonle Sap life.
Enjoy the boat ride through Chong Khneas will allow

Vietnamese living together on the boat going about
their daily life in the floating village With over
200 tour boats. Fishermen, boat-makers, markets,
Church, Police Station, schools, cerocodile farm,
spirit houses, restaurants and waving children are
always in plentiful supply on this mesmerizing
scenic route.
On the way back,
Wat Athvea is
an active Buddhist temple, is built next to an
ancient Hindu temple. The temple’s design and
distinctive style of the devata (sacred
female images) inside indicate that it was built in
the 12th century, during the reign of King
Suryavarman II(circa 1,115-1,150
AD), who also built
Angkor Wat.
The temple
is unusual because it lacks all but the most basic
decorative carvings…with the exception of some
exceptional Angkor Wat style devata.
Enjoy the lunch at
Restaurant.
After Lunch, depart to
Preah
Ang Chek & Preah Ang Chorm Of
particular importance to the locals as their wishes
come true. It is containing two standing Buddhas of
the names Preah Ang Chek (taller) and Preah Ang
Chorm (shorter). They are surrounded by stories of
power and indestructibility..
Then heading to
Wat Bo Founded
in the 18th century. A large, highly respected
pagoda and it’s contains very unique wall paintings
of the Reamker (late 19th century). Look for the
ordinary-life market scenes such as an opium smoking
Chinese merchant, the colonial era French officer at
the market and the French soldiers attending a
traditional dance performance. Also of interest is
the large collection of Buddha statues located
behind the main Buddha.
Again, Wat Thmei(killing
field) ; Its
contains a unique glass-walled stupa containing the
bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge. Some of the
bones were recovered from a nearby well while others

battlefield.
