OVERLAND Bangkok – Poipet – Siem Reap

Option. 1 (by package ticket bus): Cheapest way but longest and most tiring. Package tickets are easy to buy from any travel agents on Khao San and Sukhumvit Road. Price differ from 160 - 700 baht depends on your skin. But mostly send customers to the same bus company.
Departure Bangkok about 7Am and arrived at the border Aranyaprathet/ Poipet around 12 noon. A guy from the Bus company will explain; how can you catch their bus at the Cambodian side. Walking pass the bridge and proceed necessary paper work.

Trip to Siem Reap is very slow due to poor road conditions and the tendency of bus companies to deliberately drag out the trip; numerous stops for no reason. So that the passengers arrive in Siem Reap at night, tired and disoriented. They are then ‘delivered’ to a commission-paying guesthouse.

Please give a call to 092 865 356, 063 761 662, 011 402 161. We will come and pick you up from that guest house if you wish to stay with us.

Option. 2: (By your own):

  • Take a bus from Mochit Bus station to Aranyaprathet. Leaving hourly from 4 Am to 6 Pm. About 164-196 baht (4-5 Hrs) OR - Take a Train from Hualamphong Station (5:55 Am; 1:05 Pm). About 50 bahts. (about 6 Hrs)

  • From Aranyaprathet - Take tuk-tuk to the border for about 60 baht.

  • Walk pass the border and choice one - Share Taxi; Whole Taxi, Bus or Pick up truck.

  • Taxi: About 35$ - 40$ for the whole car. Share taxi at $10/seat. 3-4 hours.

  • Bus: Take a free shuttle from the border to bus station. $10/pax with expecting to wait till the bus full. 4-6 Hours or MORE?

  • Pickup Truck: Poipet to Sisophon - 30 baht (back) & 50 baht (cabin). then 50 baht (back) &100 baht (Cabin) to Siem Reap. 3-5 hours.
